Theatre Manager
Outstanding opportunity for a forward-thinking, innovative and motivated individual to join the UK's leading private healthcare organisation based in Milton Keynes.
This challenging, exciting role will encompass management of the Theatre Suite of a well-established 40 bedded hospital, which has invested in advanced medical technology and has 2 fully equipped theatres with ultra clean air technology, endoscopy suite and 12 consulting rooms.
The hospital provides high quality healthcare services to patients throughout Buckinghamshire, covering numerous specialities, including Breast Surgery, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Colorectal Surgery, ENT, Gastroenterology, General Surgery, Gynaecology Orthopaedic, Spinal Surgery, Cosmetic Surgery, Urology, Paediatrics and Vascular Surgery.
As Theatre Manager, the post holder will assume responsibility for all aspects of the day to day management of this busy fast paced theatre environment, including:
- Manage/co-ordinate the services of the Operating Department/Recovery/TSSU/Endoscopy to include business and strategic planning and the provision of high quality patient/client care.
- Participate as a member of the Hospital Management Team.
- Demonstrate professional leadership and development within the Department.
- Maintain high standard of leadership/management to personnel involved in patient care in accordance with National Care Standards.
- Participate as a member of theatre team - role model.
- Participate as an on-call member.
- Participate in budget/business planning.
- Ensure KPI targets are met and maintained.
- Lead teaching/development and research.
- Participate in the recruitment and skills/competencies of relevant staff.
Applicants should be NMC/HPC registered, qualified RGN's/ODP's with an excellent, established background in Theatre (5 years) and proven leadership/managerial and motivational skills. A Mentorship in Practice ENB 998/ENB 176 qualification and a management qualification is highly desirable, as is an ALS Certificate. Experience in budgetary control and human resource management is essential.
Furthermore, candidates must be excellent communicators with first-class organisational skills, a competent multi-skilled practitioner with a good understanding of NMC codes and guidelines and their implication for practice.
