Our client is a leading player in the UK patient messaging market. They make software that sends messages reminding patients of appointments and selling or promoting services and health campaigns. They are currently looking to recruit a motivated Deployment/Software Support Engineer to join their team.

As a Senior Software Architect, you'll be helping the development team with specifying, designing, implementing, maintaining and managing a range of software and services based upon highly scalable enterprise technologies.

Our client's current server platform is Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP. They intend to replace this with Linux, Apache and Java enterprise technologies - and that's where you come in.

In this key role, you will be required to provide technical input in the following areas:

- The design of the overall system
- The selection of tool sets, software and frameworks used throughout the development cycle
- System components and the overall service in both function and performance

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have substantial commercial Java development experience, including experience of:

- Java and Java enterprise technologies
- Specifying and writing Java server applications
- At least one Application Server environment
