Our Aerospace client are currently looking for a experienced Senior/Lead Design Engineer.

Technical Responsibilities
Responsible for ensuring the design requirements of the product, the customer and relevant regulatory bodies are complied with. Undertakes to monitor the design and draughting functions both manual and CAD to ensure the requirements are met at minimum weight and costs. Check drawings, engineering inspection queries and weight cards documentation. Ensure the team adheres to quality processes. Initatives project layouts, check final design schemes and working drawings as allocated are in compliance. Project Management Responsibilities Leads the activities of a small engineering team. Effectively programmes and manages any task allocated to the team. Regular programme updates with reports covering spend, achievement, forecast out turn, issue and customer feedback. Interface with other teams, departments, partners and customers on task related issues. Controls & monitors project spend and reports to project manager/engineering director.

Skills Required
Qualifications/Experience
HNC/HND Degree in Engineering
Minimum 5 years Senior or 8 years Lead related work experience.
Sound knowledge of aircraft structural design.
Knowledge of aerospace materials and standard hardware.
Knowledge of aerodynamic loading.
Familiar with EASA Part 21 preferably Chartered or working towards that goal.
Knowledge of project management tools and basic commercial understanding.
