PROCESS IMPROVEMENT MANAGER

The successful applicant will join the Leighton Buzzard management team, providing engineering and technical support to the factory on cost reduction & efficiency enhancements, improvement projects, problem solving and other aspects of process improvement.

Key responsibilities will lie in the following functional areas:

Management of a small Maintenance Team comprising 4 Fitters and 2 Technicians.
Budgetary control of the plant and building maintenance spend, which will include liaison and negotiation with suppliers and the appointment and control of contractors.
Provision of technical expertise on a range of manufacturing and engineering issues.
Further development of the safety culture on site.
To further develop and maintain Health & Safety management systems.
Project management of defined improvement projects.
The position could involve travel to all parts of the UK.

Applicants will need to possess the following:

A recognised engineering or manufacturing qualification.
Relevant experience in a manufacturing industry, preferably gained within the construction products sector.
Well-developed numeracy and sound IT skills.
A demonstrable commitment to the continuous improvement ethic and the TPM process.
A high degree of self-motivation.
Experience of project management.
Understanding of PLC systems.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
An ability to meet deadlines and stay cool under pressure.
NEBOSH certificated.
