Operations Group Manager

Reporting directly to this position are Operational Section Managers and various levels of Operations support personnel.

The successful candidate will be a dedicated, self-motivated leader who will work in a highly responsive production environment. They will be responsible for the development and engagement of a diverse team that will drive process enhancement and continuous improvement within a dedicated area.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Accountable for embedding CPS guiding principles within the area of responsibility, Lead and motivate a production team with a dedicated and positive attitude, Accountable for specific goals on safety, employee engagement, quality, efficiency and cost, Manage production resources to meet on-time deliveries, ensuring proper direction and supervision of activities in assigned area to maintain effective utilization of personnel and equipment, Promotes positive employee engagement and development of people through continuous learning initiatives, Initiate and conduct process improvement dialogues with Section Managers, Team Leads and Team Members, Develop and execute budget plans, Meet customer delivery performance, cost reduction programs, lead-time improvements, and quality improvement projects that will enhance customer value and business unit results.  

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED - Essential: Significant and relevant experience within a supervisory role, ideally at a management level, The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate good oral and written communication ability along with effective interpersonal skills, Evidence of knowledge and application of IT skills, Proven experience in managing performance with a demonstrated history of delivering results is essential for the role, Requires a thorough knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement processes and tools, manufacturing operations, general knowledge of related areas, Excellent interpersonal skills are required to develop a cooperative work relationship with peer group, team and other functions.

Desirable: Knowledge of SAP and previous experience in the management of continuous improvement projects such as lean manufacturing or 6 Sigma would be desirable, Applicants will preferably hold a degree in an engineering or business related discipline together with proven supervisory and/or management experience, Previous experience either in an Operations Management function and / or in an Quality discipline is desirable, Understanding of financial expectations within and operational environment.
