English Subject Leader
ENGLISH SUBJECT LEADER
MPS TLR 1A 4,000 to develop targeted literacy skills across the curriculum to help raise attainment.
Required for Easter or September 2012
We are looking to appoint an outstanding subject leader for English who will contribute to raising attainment in the
English faculty and across the school.
The successful candidate should:
- be an outstanding teacher with the ability to model best practice in the classroom.
- be innovative and a strategic thinker, able to turn ideas and opportunities into successful practice.
- have a proven track record in raising standards and achievement in English.
- have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish strong relationships with students and colleagues.
The successful candidate will:
- be expected to continue to raise attainment in English across both key stages, but particularly in KS4. 76% A* to C in
English in 2011.
- be expected to lead and develop a team of committed teachers to strengthen the subject's key role within the school.
- have the opportunity to make a major contribution to whole-school development.
- be in a key post in a school where professional development is encouraged and supported.
All staff are provided with laptops, the school has very generous ICT facilities and a well established learning
platform. English has its own suite of laptops.
Ashcroft High School :
- Achieved an 'OUTSTANDING' OFSTED March 2011.
- Is a high achieving school with 85% 5A*-C and 50% including English and Maths.
- Has a friendly and supportive group of colleagues.
- Is undergoing a 18 million building programme, which will include a theatre.
