Position: Capacity Planner

Location: Sale, Rotherham, London or Inverness
Salary: Negotiable

The role:
Working in a small specialist team on an account that supports over 10,000 users, with several hundred Servers and services delivered to 100+ sites.
Already a senior engineer/senior capacity planner you will probably have experience on 2 or more platforms (eg Wintel Servers Linux sevrers, SAN, WAN, Virtual Servers).
Able to take cross-platform capacity and related service issues into account, you will need to determine, measure - and report - appropriate capacity metrics from both current and incoming new technologies, via tools or manually. Strong in Excel, VLookup should not be a surprise - ideally you'll also have some exposure to tools such as Athene, Concord (eHealth), HPOM and SCOM.

The team needs those hard earned skills that you've acquired, to aggregate all the new data and statistics and to interpret that into service implications, and to generate and compare to capacity forecasts, to help assure "right-sized" investment, both for us and the client.

Essential:
ITIL Foundation
Strong Excel
Several platforms from: Wintel, Linux, Unix, SAN, WAN, LAN
Project engagement
Working with little day-to-day supervision
Desirable:
Capacity Practitioner
Working in a Service Management team
Experience in Service Introduction
